Camp Hale Wedding | Shamirah & Fernando

High school sweethearts Shamirah and Fernando’s Camp Hale wedding provided the most gorgeous and picturesque mountain views in Colorado. Being adventurous at heart and loving travel, the East Coast couple decided to host one of their two wedding receptions in Colorado. The search for the perfect destination Colorado wedding venue led them to Camp Hale in Vail, Colorado, where they fell in love with the stunning setting and the incredible food of Chef Eric.

The couple met for the first time in high school after Shamirah returned from an exchange student program. They quickly became friends, bonding over their love for science and food. Their 14 year love story crescendoed on December 28, 2018. While on an adventure to Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia, Fernando proposed to Shamirah at sunrise in Bali, Indonesia on a beautiful black sand beach.

Camp Hale Wedding Ceremony Island

After having to postpone their wedding due to COVID, Camp Hale’s mountain views, stunning ceremony island, elegant white tent, and brilliant starry night sky, were worth the wait and made for the perfect setting for Shamirah and Fernando’s intimate Colorado wedding.

When you see a couple that is so meant for one another and so in love, you know they are going to be surrounded by the most amazing friends and family. Shamirah and Fernando’s wedding party was as marvelous as the couple, both inside and out. Her bridesmaids were stunning in Cinnamon Rose Skye Satin Dresses by Revelry, while the groom and groomsmen looked ever so stylish in suites by Asos and Aldo, Trywen shoes. Of course no one was as marvelous as the beautiful bride! Shamirah simply wowed in a Martina Liana dress she purchased at RK Bridal in New York. Keep scrolling to see her reception dress!

Tented Reception Details

From our first meeting with Shamirah and Fernando, we knew that every detail was going to be perfect. The couple had a clear vision of wanting to create a whimsical and modern rustic wedding that not only created a fun and inviting guest experience, but showcased the couples adventurous personalities. From the custom neon sign, beaded chandeliers, macrame chargers, macrame napkin rings, boho lounge furniture, cake hoop, and eye popping pampas grass and orchid florals, each detail of this whimsical, boho fall wedding was carefully curated.

The couple wanted to ensure that their love for travel and adventure could be felt throughout their wedding. From their “Where in the world are you sitting” seating chart, table names of places the couple has traveled, luggage tag favors, and globe guest book, the details were reflective of the couple’s personalities.

We promised a dress change! Shamirah’s reception wedding dress with a stunning beaded cape by Wona Concept was a show stopper! Paired with Fernando’s classic black tux, the couple was the picture of modern elegance and made quite a grand entrance.

After waiting two years, the couple finally got to celebrate with their guests and the party did not disappoint. From the shutterbus VW photo booth to a caricature artist, the couple ensured their guests had a night to remember. Shamirah and Fernando’s advise to all couples getting married is to “try not to sweat the small things. Many things will not go “perfectly”, but it will be the most perfect imperfect day of your life. So be in the moment and enjoy every moment.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
